Goan cuisine reflects a blend of local Konkani roots and over 450 years of Portuguese rule. This unique fusion of cultures is what creates the curry’s distinct balance of flavors. The use of chilies and vinegar are direct influences from Portuguese cuisine.
Casa Masala Cambridge is a small-batch culinary brand rooted in the vibrant traditions of Goan and Indian cuisine. Casa Masala brings authentic flavours to life through carefully crafted dishes, community tastings, and a deep love for cultural connection.

The food was delicious. I could definitely taste the vinegar but not so much the garlic. I could also have taken a bit more heat and would say that was quite mild. The portion was ample and there was lots of meat—the pork was very tender too.

Tasted amazing. I would certainly have more from you. Only feedback is bigger portions but other than that fantastic. Not as hot as Madras, possibly a little bit hotter next time would be good for me, but was delicious.”

To a man on the street, ‘vindaloo’ means super hot. This vindaloo was hot, but not the vindaloo heat—and it was flavourful. I reckon this was after people’s recommendation. We liked it very much.

I tried vindaloo during my visit to Goa last year, and this version brought it all back—the flavours were absolutely spot on and truly authentic. We loved it—it was finger-licking good! Can we look forward to this being a weekend staple soon?
